The Organised Chaos

€25.00

A rather decisive arrangement of shapes, this print by Gozi is perfect for those who find straight lines tedious and predictability alarming. We’ve tentatively titled it "Organised Chaos," simply because "Six Blobs and Several Black Bits" felt a bit too descriptive.

The Decidedly Non-Symmetrical Details

This work features five substantial coloured forms, which have been arranged in a manner that suggests deep artistic contemplation, or perhaps a sudden sneeze.

  • The Terracotta One: Anchoring the composition, this shape features some lovely black stripes and a general air of importance. It is accompanied by four precise black dots, which seem to be waiting for something to happen.

  • The Dusty Rose One: Sweeping across the midsection, this shape is accompanied by its own small parade of black dots and a decisive black curve. A true statement piece, if your statement is "I prefer curves, mostly."

  • The Teal One: Positioned below, this form has its own stripes, four dots (the dots seem to be quite important), and a general sense of being "down there."

  • The Moss Green One: The upper right shape. It features some rather sharp-looking black lines, possibly added for dramatic effect, and a large black void in the middle. Perfect for contemplating nothingness.

  • The Mustard Yellow One: A small, low-slung offering at the bottom, which is, refreshingly, just yellow. It contains some black texture, possibly just to fit in.

In the Words of a Mildly Perplexed Curator

"A definitive statement for the modern dwelling that finds narrative in art to be utterly exhausting. It’s an understated statement, specifically designed for those who find straight lines stressful and wish to declare their 'thoughtful' appreciation for the irregular. Or maybe they just ran out of options."

Specifications for the Artistically Puzzled

  • Artist: Gozi (a person with a pen, presumably).

  • Medium: Fine print. (Because "some coloured blobs" doesn't sound quite as refined.)

  • Palette: The palette: Terracotta, Dusty Rose, Teal, Moss Green, and Mustard. The binary options of life, captured in block form.

  • Orientation: Vertical. For maximum squiggle-descending effect.

  • Framing Suggestions: A simple black frame will make the black blobs feel right at home. A simple white frame will make them feel slightly trapped. Natural wood will make them feel self-conscious about their industrial perfection.

Pairs wonderfully with a lukewarm cup of tea, and a mild, unexpressed confusion.
